Request a Ride
Call up to two weeks in advance of your request. Same day
requests are accepted; however, the more notice you provide the
better your chance of obtaining a ride.
Call (503) 528-1755 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is Ride Connection and they do the scheduling for the Red
Cross. They will set up a file for you if you aren't registered.
You will be asked to leave your name and telephone number and
will be called back. If you do not have a touch tone phone, stay
on the line and a ride coordinator will answer your call.
Provide the following information to request your ride:
- Name of your destination
- Address of your destination
- Telephone number of your destination
- Doctor or therapist's name, if applicable
- Appointment time
- Ready time for return ride
- Appointment date
If you are requesting a ride for an errand that does not have
an appointment time, please be flexible. You may be offered several
time choices so that requests can be grouped.
If the telephone line is busy, please leave your name and telephone
number on the recording so a ride coordinator may return your
call as soon as possible.
After your request has been made, a Red Cross scheduler will
review your request and try to match it with an appropriate vehicle
and volunteer driver.
We will call you back approximately one week prior to your ride
date to let you know if we can provide the ride you have requested
. If your request was for the same week, we will call you as soon
as possible.
If you are unable to make the trip for any reason, please notify
Red Cross so we can adjust our schedules.
Please note: Because Red Cross is a volunteer-based service,
it is possible we may not have a volunteer driver available. If
Red Cross is unable to fulfill your request, please refer to Other
