CBVC Benefits
CBVC members can elect to receive either a $4725 education award
or a $1200 cash stipend upon successfully completing their year
of service. The education award can be used to pay educational
costs at qualified institutions of higher education, or to repay
qualified student loans. Members must select either the education
award or cash stipend during the application
process. Please note that this is the only opportunity
members will have to elect the education award. To
learn more about the education award go to http://www.americorps.gov/for_individuals/benefits/benefits_ed_award.asp.
Members also receive a taxable living allowance, basic health insurance, loan forbearance and child care
(if eligible). Beyond these benefits, members have the opportunity
to gain skills, take on leadership roles, work with many partnering
agencies, build networks and know the satisfaction of "Getting
Things Done."
