PORTLAND, Ore. – (April 25, 2008) With recent headlines about the potential for an even larger-scale earthquake in our region and the swarms of more than 600 small earthquakes off the Oregon Coast, now is the time to not only inform Oregonians, but also educate them about how to prepare for this type of disaster.

To that end, the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross offers the following resources:

Earthquake preparedness tips - http://www.redcross.org/services/prepare/0,1082,0_241_,00.html

Tsunami preparedness tips - http://www.redcross.org/services/prepare/0,1082,0_249_,00.html

Additionally, the Oregon Trail Chapter offers free preparedness training for groups of 10 or more. Interested Oregonians can call 503-528-5665 to schedule.
