About Tracy Clinkscales
I was born in the early 1940s in Pocatello, Idaho, and raised in beautiful Oregon. I have had far too many occupations in far too many countries around this old rock to talk about here. I have been able to study first hand the primitive art of native tribes in Australia and New Guinea as well as other media forms. I use oil on canvas because it offers greater flexibility and forgiveness even though it requires a greater time commitment.

All of my life I have been an avid lover and observer of nature in all its strength, fragility and mystery. My hope is that my painted landscapes will transport the viewer beyond the painted scene to a sense of the place itself and to a feeling of serenity.

Marcia A. Petty
Oregon has been my home for over 20 years. I was born in North Carolina, where I learned to love a big shady yard. I have lived in Illinois, California, Hawai’i, and Florida. Living in sun-drenched states for many years has given me a mental collection of images of color and light and tropical exuberance.

My family consists of husband Walt Gorman and our indoor-only cats. The kitties make me laugh and remind me to stop and play with the catnip. I regularly visit and pet cats at a rescued cat sanctuary; sadly, most of them will never get an individual home and lap.

Before retiring, I had a long career as a technical writer and editor, mostly in the computer industry (also in agriculture, anthropology, and medicine). I have a BA in Comparative Literature (University of California at Riverside) and an MA in English (University of Florida).

I am a pianist. I accompany Encore, a women’s audition community choir. I am privileged to be asked to play regularly at the Tigard United Methodist church, accompanying soloists and joining in seasonal cantatas with choir, organ, and orchestra.
