Canteen Action Teams

Services. Canteen Action Teams provide beverage and snack services to clients and to first responders: you will often see the Oregon Trail Canteen Team serving coffee and snacks from their Emergency Kitchen Response Vehicle at a large fire or search and rescue operation.

Schedule. Canteen Action Teams maintain a rotating schedule and are prepared to establish mobile and fixed feeding when necessary. The specific schedule depends on the number of teams in operation at the time. The goal is to have four teams, each on call one week out of four. The current CAT schedule is located on the Calendar page.

Requirements. CAT’s are encouraged to have valid Oregon Food Handler’s Certification as many disasters can evolve into lengthy feeding events. When the demand for meals exceeds the Canteen and Feeding Group abilities, partner organization are activated, providing thousands of servings per meal. See Requirements
